A theological case for senior health care

I am so excited to share with you some of the educational offerings that our office has been putting together for your churches. Specifically, our Senior Health team is leading the way in education and service for our senior saints.

The scriptural command to love one another (John. 13:24) has always been central to the mission of Everence. We were founded out of a long tradition of bearing one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). We have grown as the church continues to put faith into action through shared resources. As needs have evolved, so has Everence.

Today, matters of health and health care are often the most pressing pastoral needs in our communities, especially among our seniors. As older adults enjoy increased longevity, the space between retirement and end of life is expanding, and the biblical mandate to care for our elders is clear.

But how does contemporary pastoral care reflect the current cultural and economic landscape seniors face? As an organization, we do not want to be guilty of wishing our seniors to be “in good health” without a willingness to share in the responsibility of providing for and promoting good health (James 2:15-17).

We believe that assisting our senior members through this season of life is imperative. And as always, we want to partner with your church to meet the needs of your faith family.

As we continue our mandate to serve churches and her members, we have put together several webinar options to help your church meet the needs of your senior saints. Below you will find a sample of topics that our team of experts have prepared. Our team is passionately pursuing excellent service and care to support this pastoral need in our churches. I would love to discuss what it would look like to have one of our team members join your church for an educational event.
