GOSHEN, Indiana – The Everence® Federal Credit Union Board of Directors has appointed Kristen M. Heisey, CFMP, as the credit union’s new President and Chief Executive Officer.
“I am excited to welcome Kristen Heisey to the Everence family through her newly appointed role as Everence Federal Credit Union President and CEO. In fact, I’ve been eager since the day we interviewed her,” said Kevin Ressler, Chair of the Everence Federal Credit Union Board of Directors.
Heisey assumed the responsibilities as the credit union’s new CEO on June 27, 2022, and joins the Everence Financial® Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the organization’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Ken Hochstetler. Her appointment comes following an extensive search conducted by the Everence Federal Credit Union Board of Directors and Everence leadership.
“I can comfortably state for myself and the board that we are uniformly and unanimously excited by her passion for the work we do and the values that drive the success for Everence,” Ressler continued. “Her leadership will continue to accelerate the trajectory of the successful community development through values-based banking that our financial services staff and previous leadership has been traversing. Heisey brings more than 25 years of experience, particularly related to financial and nonprofit marketing and business development. She joins Everence from PeoplesBank (headquartered in York, Pennsylvania), where she led marketing, communication, client experience, data analytics and product innovation efforts since 2018.
Prior to that, she served as the Senior Vice President for Mission Advancement at Messiah Lifeways (Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania), where she contributed to the organization’s strategic direction and financial oversight. Other previous work experience includes marketing and sales management, grassroots coordination, training and member services roles at the Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union, York County Transportation Authority, Marketing General Incorporated, The Wolf Organization, and Pennsylvania League of Cities and Municipalities.
At Everence Federal Credit Union, Heisey will oversee the organization’s day-to-day operations and direct its leadership team in achieving its strategic goals.

Heisey earned her Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Messiah University (Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania), and her Master of Science Marketing from Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, Maryland). She holds a Certified Financial Marketing Professional designation from the American Bankers Association. She is a member of the board of directors for Crispus Attucks York (Pennsylvania), and previously served on the boards for the YWCA of York, the Goodridge Freedom Center, and MHS Consulting.
