GOSHEN, Ind. – In a meaningful step toward supporting communities affected by recent hurricanes, Everence® has delivered a $50,000 check to Mennonite Disaster Service. This contribution is part of the organization’s commitment to supporting disaster relief efforts and walking alongside those in need.
As previously announced by Everence, the funds will assist MDS in its continuous efforts to deliver relief and recovery services to communities in the southeastern United States affected by the storms. MDS is known for its faithful response to natural disasters, bringing together volunteers and resources to help rebuild homes and restore hope in the midst of hardship.
“We recognize the profound challenges that many individuals, families and communities are facing in the wake of these devastating hurricanes,” said Ken Hochstetler, Everence President and CEO. "Our support of MDS reflects our commitment to sharing resources in service to God and one another, and our call to help our communities in times of need.”
As hurricane recovery efforts progress, Everence is inviting clients, members, and the broader community to amplify their impact through the Everence Helps: Hurricane Relief matching gift initiative. Donations from individuals, churches, or organizations to the Everence Foundation will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000.
“In times of crisis, the Everence community is called to channel their faith and values into action,” Hochstetler said. “The Everence Helps: Hurricane Relief initiative is intended to help and enhance that collective mission of support.”
Everence encourages donors to engage in the matching gift initiative, even surpassing the dollar-for-dollar match limit, to maximize assistance for those affected by the disaster. Every dollar raised will be directed to trusted partner organizations and agencies actively assisting hurricane-impacted individuals and rebuilding their communities.
