I come from Wakarusa Indiana, and I just finished my first year at Purdue University West Lafayette. I am majoring in agricultural business with focuses on crop science and agri-marketing. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and family, and being active outside.

What is your role and where are you located?

I am the Sales Support Intern for the Michiana team at the N. Main Street office in Goshen, Indiana.

What is something you have learned in your internship?

Through my internship, I have learned and developed the skill of event planning, as that is what my internship somewhat revolves around. I’ve done most of my work organizing and planning for the sponsorship Everence has with the Elkhart County 4-H Fair.

What has been your favorite project/task?

One of my favorite tasks is unrelated to working with event planning. I have thoroughly enjoyed speaking with some of the consultants about youth engagement within Everence as a whole and what that could look like in the future.

How did you find Everence?

I have had family and friends working at Everence for a long time, so I have always known of Everence.

What is something you like to do on the weekends?

On the weekends, I love spending time outdoors, going on runs, and hanging out with my friends.

What is your favorite local restaurant?

My favorite local restaurant is a place in Nappanee, Indiana called Hunter’s Hideaway. It is a locally-owned restaurant that has good food and isn’t overly expensive.

What advice do you have for future interns at Everence?

For a future intern, I would say that most of the internship with Everence will truly be what you make of it. If you get a few weeks into your summer and realize there is something else that someone is doing that you have interest in, ask about it. More likely than not there is a way your supervisor can work time into your schedule for you to be able to experience whatever that may be. That’s another one of the great things about Everence. They do so much and have such a wide array of business that you can truly dip your toes into almost every sector of the corporate world. Which is what I wanted to do in my internship, so I have been very appreciative of this opportunity!
