Grace Meyer

What is your background? (Schools, hometown, major, hobbies, etc.)

I have lived in Bremen, Indiana, most of my life and attended Bremen Public Schools for K-12. I now go to Huntington University where I will be a Junior this fall and am an English Literature and Pre-Law major with a political science minor. I am also on the women’s tennis team at Huntington University. I am a huge reader and love music, thrifting, and being outside.

What is your role and where are you located?

I am a Legal and Health Insurance Intern located in Goshen, Indiana.

What is something you have learned in your internship?

I have learned a lot about the Health Insurance world, which I was clueless about. More generally, I have also learned the importance of paying close attention to detail.

What has been your favorite project/task?

My favorite task has been the Summary Plan Description transition project because I was able to learn a lot of practical skills regarding formatting and Word, which is a skill that will be helpful in almost any job. I also heard from several people how helpful my work on this project was, so that was extra rewarding to hear.

How did you find Everence?

My mom saw the posting for this internship on the Bethel University job board.

What is something you like to do on the weekends?

On weekends I love laying out by the pool with my friends and spending time with my sisters.

What is your favorite local restaurant?

My favorite local restaurant is The Wooden Peel in Bremen.

What advice do you have for future interns at Everence?

My advice would be to take any opportunity to make a new connection during the internship.
