I grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, for most of my life. For high school I went to Lancaster Country Day School and from there went (and currently go) to Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. I am majoring in finance and business analytics there. I love all things sports, especially soccer and lacrosse. I am on the Lacrosse team at Indiana. I like to read, listen to music, go fishing, and do anything else outdoors.

What is your role and where are you located?

I am an Accounting Intern at the Credit Union Administration Office in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

What is something you have learned in your internship?

I learned quickly how many background processes take place at financial institutions. There is so much more going on behind the scenes at a bank or credit union that one doesn’t realize as a customer or member.

What has been your favorite project/task?

My favorite task to date was working on an ATM project for the branches. This consisted of conducting research on industry trends as well as our competitors and our own systems of operation for ATMs at branches. The idea was to decide a strategy for ATM employment in the future at our locations.

How did you find Everence?

I found Everence through a job board online as I was searching for internships. I liked what I saw through the job description and aligned with the values of Everence as well.

What is something you like to do on the weekends?

I love to be active outdoors. Recently this has taken the form of golfing most weekends. But when I can, I also like to fish and play sports with my friends.

What is your favorite local restaurant?

While my favorite restaurant tends to change pretty frequently, I would say that my current favorite would have to be Plaza Azteca. (The best Mexican restaurant in Lancaster).

What advice do you have for future interns at Everence?

For future interns, I would say to be as open as possible and try to soak in as much information as possible. You are only going to be here for 12 weeks, which in the grand scheme of things is not a long time. There is so much to learn here, and the great employees and co-workers are happy to help with just about anything.
