Meet the candidates

Nominees for the board of directors

We are pleased to present to you, a member of Everence Federal Credit Union, the candidates chosen by the credit union nominating committee to fill the vacant positions on our board. We believe our members are well-represented by these qualified individuals. Submitted by the nominating committee for a three-year term:
Ken Hochstetler

Ken Hochstetler

Ken Hochstetler serves as President and CEO of Everence. Ken joined Everence in 2014, following a long career in executive leadership positions related to advisory services, foundation services, insurance agencies, investments, municipal pensions, asset management services, and retail and commercial banking at Univest Corporation, Meridian Bank, and Lehigh University Small Business Development Center. Ken serves on the boards of directors for Greencroft Foundation, Goshen; Oaklawn Psychiatric Center, Goshen; and Goshen Chamber of Commerce.

Ken earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in business and computer science from Goshen College and his Master of Business Administration in finance and management from Lehigh University. He and his wife attend Berkey Avenue Mennonite Church in Goshen, Indiana.

Barbara Rice

Barbara Rice

Barbara Rice has worked in the financial industry for over 45 years. She has a background in banking and currently does consulting for community banks in asset/liability management. She has experience in fixed-income investments, broker/dealer reporting, regulatory compliance, and treasury management. She serves on other nonprofit boards, including Quakertown Christian School and Healthy Niños Honduras. Barb and her husband, Jake, are members of Deep Run East Mennonite Church in Perkasie, Pennsylvania.

Barb serves as board treasurer and chair of the board Finance Committee. She is serving her second term as an EFCU board member.

Further details will be available prior to the meeting on this webpage, in the branches, and on your March statement. Come and learn more about our cooperative credit union!

Nomination process

Members have the option to nominate names for directors

To do so, you must submit the following:

  1. A petition, signed by at least 1% (246) of Everence Federal Credit Union members, placing the person’s name in nomination.
  2. A letter from the nominee, stating that, if elected, that person is willing to serve. Mail petitions for nomination to Kevin Ressler, Board Chair, Everence Federal Credit Union, 2160 Lincoln Highway E., Ste. 20, Lancaster, PA 17602. Petitions cannot be sent via email. All petitions must be postmarked by February 10, 2025.

(If the number of nominees equals the number of positions to be filled, no ballot election will be conducted and no nominations will be taken at the annual meeting.)
