Identity theft

Identity theft is on the rise, making awareness and vigilance essential. If you suspect identity theft, use the links below to report it promptly. Below are some suggested action steps if you believe you have been involved in identity theft:

  1. Keep a record of all communications, including dates, names, email addresses, phone numbers, and any contact information.
  2. Add a fraud alert to your credit report.
  3. Regularly check your credit, especially during the first year, to identify and remove any fraudulent information.
  4. Close any compromised or fraudulently opened accounts.
  5. Dispute any transactions that are fraudulent with each location directly.
  6. Consider filing a police report with local law enforcement.
  7. Report identity theft to the Federal Trade Commission.
  8. Consider purchasing identity protection.
